The first SBC based on the new Intel® Embedded Compact Extended form factor SBC, SBC84820, is the addition of the computing platform to its growing Pentium M family line of SBCs. Available in a choice of configurations and options, the SBC offers developers a robust and reliable platform to build on with the added benefit of being able to realize faster times to market for new products.

This significant platform supported the onboard low voltage Intel® Pentium® M processor and ultra low voltage Intel® Celeron® M processors with processor speeds ranging up to 1.4GHz and 1GHz respectively. The Intel® ECX (Extended Compact eXtended) from factor calls for x86 architecture, CompactFlashTM storage devices, anti-vibration environments; and the ULV/LV CPU answered for less power consumption, minimal thermal output for a fanless solution. The tiny platform enables a plethora of in-vehicle infotainment applications, like a car.

It is powered by the Intel® 915GM and ICH*6M chipset. The Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset supports PCI Express bus architecture, a highly scalable general purpose I/O for the latest industry peripherals. The SBC84820 built-in Fast Ethernet port in default and offered optional full speed Gigabit Ethernet which through Intel® 82540QM Ethernet controller. The Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset integrates graphics function and supports dual channel LVDS for various embedded applications.

The tiny ECX platform supports one 200-pin DDR2 400 MHz memory with maximum 1GB SODIMM. Its outstanding display features with dual LVDS, DVI, TV-out and CRT for dual contents and different resolutions for advanced applications. In addition, AXIOMTEK's SBC84820 supported Serial ATA-150, PCI express expansion, AC'97 Audio, CompactFlashTM Type-II with DMA mode, and 4 USB 2.0 ports for high speed peripherals. It also offered stack-up add-on features as options.
