IC testing company King Yuan Electronics Company (KYEC) is expected to enjoy double-digit revenue growth in 2017, with enhanced profitability, according to market watchers.
A pull-in of orders placed by China- and Taiwan-based handset chip suppliers, and stable growth in orders for modem chips, graphics processors and other chip solutions from US-based IC vendors will be driving KYEC's revenue growth in 2017, said the watchers.
KYEC has reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.68 billion (US$54.5 million) for January 2017, up 17.7% on year.
KYEC posted record revenues of NT$20.08 billion for 2016 which represented 17.2% on-year growth.
KYEC generated net profits of NT$877 million in the third quarter of 2016, up 3.5% sequentially and hitting a record high for the second consecutive quarter. EPS for the quarter came to NT$0.75. KYEC's net profits for the first three quarters of 2016 totaled NT$2.33 billion, rising 27.8% from a year ago, with EPS reaching NT$2.
KYEC provides backend services for memory chips, LCD driver ICs, logic and mixed-signal ICs, and MEMS, with clients including fabless and IDM companies. MediaTek, HiSilicon, Nvidia, Xilinx, Omnivision and Himax are reportedly among the testing house's major clients.
